Even when you’re not a stay-at-home mom, you find it hard to invest in yourself. With all the school bills or baby products, yearly vacation, healthy food and just too much stuff to buy to improve your kids’ life.
Although desperation goes higher when you’re the one who decided to stay at home with kids to secure them a healthy childhood, mom gotta do what’s good for her. What’s the point in being cranky and unsatisfied all the time?
No matter your delicious healthy meals, glowing furniture or super organised kids’ backpack/closet/toys, they don’t need the angry face from you. They need to learn from you and they need your support.
I bet that they would rather choose to see happy and playful you 2 hours per day than having to put off with your drama the whole day. It’s sad, but it’s also not fair to send those vibes to them.
Here are my top 5 ways to invest (plus how to make it possible) in yourself. Do it now for better tomorrow, for your calmness and your family’s happiness.
1 Start a blog.
While you’ll find too many completely personal blogs from moms you can use for inspiration on creating your own, that’s not what I’ll suggest you do.
Why throw your time creating something no one would’ve wanted to read? Ever? When you can make it a business and make money from the comfort of your home (for only $3.95).
Of course, your life is pretty brilliant right now, you want to share your kids the whole day through. But that’s a story for your family and friends. How would you like seeing tons of pictures from someone you barely know (or don’t know at all)?!
Exactly. You wouldn’t either trust they’re the bloggers when instead of sharing advice they only share low-quality photos of their kids. So, if you want to make it a business and get the real money from real work from home, then:

2 Invest in your health.
With busy schedules and long lines, it gets harder to visit your doctor for a yearly health check, to eat healthy and slow, to exercise and remember your vitamins.
I’m a creative soul who gets upset when something interrupts her creating flow. This blog has not only become the best career I could ever hope for, but also my way of setting goals and achieving them. Through inspiring you, I inspire myself too.
My today’s mission is to inspire you to baby step into investing in your health monthly. So, if it’s easier for you to pay for a yearly health check (and whenever you need it) and gym membership, it’s your right. You work so hard throughout the day and your right is to feel comfortable.

3 Rebrand your fashion to minimalism.
Following trends is cool, but having too many clothing items in a “mom closet” can sometimes be overwhelming. Both my husband and I decided to gift 3 boxes of each of our clothes to homeless people.
We now walk the streets basically covered in either the same combination from last Tuesday or “it’s a different white shirt on me, but you can’t see the difference because it only is about that small black button”.
Ever since we decluttered our closets and decided to adopt a capsule wardrobe, there’s less stress in our lives. We appear everywhere on time (or at least nearly on time) and clothes don’t fall on us anymore.
Although having pretty clothes is nice, I refuse to be a fashion slave in the wrong way. And I teach my kid the same. I would also gladly buy one expensive coat that I like than 5 others I don’t quite enjoy wearing. Fashion is an art, but also it’s a way for us to feel comfortable and express who we are.
This is where I don’t wander too much, but want to show who I really am instead. As long as it’s fancy enough for my eyes, comfortable and shapes me for who I am, I’m good to go. Here are some examples of how my top 3 capsule wardrobes would look like!

4 Invest in your look.
I don’t mean anything apart from natural here. Whilst I don’t see those trends when people pay to have something smaller or bigger negative, I’m not the one to give advise about them.
Few months after I’ve met my mom-in-law, she told me that she would always approve of buying an expensive eye cream than an expensive makeup. I was always that girl who didn’t know how to properly put make-up on but had plenty of creams for every area on her face and body. But that day, she opened my eyes a bit wider.
In pregnancy, my hair became thick but got curly after I gave birth, my nails soft, my skin dry but with too many acne on my face. I knew there’s a lot to change in my daily skincare since everything else has changed.
Since I (well, mostly my husband) invested in hair/skin products, I had no stretch marks and no scars. I even repaired my hair but I had to cut it since it got half curly half straight, lol.
5 Invest in education.
Whether you already have a college degree or similar, whether you’re a college dropout or there’s something you’ve always wanted to learn, now is your time. With that tiny peace of huge inspiration by your side, your kid, you can do everything.
Even if there’s nothing like what I’ve said that you want, then still educate each day. You’re the one who knows all the answers, remember! Whenever people ask me how do I discipline such strong-willed but the well-behaved kid (although not completely behaved), I said: educate.
Here are some of my favourites and also best-selling

I’d known nothing, except for what my instincts knew, about parenting. But I was ready to educate and investigate what feels right. Obviously, I’m the one to find with a book or two constantly educating on something. I still think reading books is one of the best ways to invest in yourself!
And, you?!
What do you think? How do you find time for yourself? Do we share the same passion for learning and staying positive?
