With days getting shorter, nights and mornings chiller – I get all kinds of excited for cuddling, relaxing, drinking hot chocolate and reading them spooky books! However, I noticed that not everyone feels the cosy feels. So, here’s a fall playlist to inspire you in mornings and cheer you up when you’re feeling sad.
Spice up your mornings!
Morning in autumn reminds me of slow, inspirational jazz and its home (which I’ve never visited, but on my bucket list!) – New Orleans. Jazz also makes me nostalgic of childhood and cartoons, so I’m reliving some memories while listening. But this playlist usually sets me in a mood to be more and do more.
It screams at me to have that time for myself before I start serving the world. To wrap me in a burrito blanket, enjoy a cappuccino and a book and ultimately, go through my todo lists for the day, wake up the family and enjoy breakfast together. Whatever your mornings consist of, you can try this inspirational fall playlist of mine.
Fall playlist to cheer you up!
When you’re smilin’
When you’re smilin’
The whole world, it smiles with you
When you’re laughin’
Babe, when you’re laughin’
Well, the sun comes shinin’ through|
But when you’re cryin’
You know you bring on the rain
Stop that sighin’
Be happy again…
Starting with jazz again because jazz has tons of cheerful songs, unlike what people around me think! And a demo jazz song from our electric piano used to be the daddy and son dance song for a long time!
When our son was 2, he used to turn on the piano and that exact song to greet his dad coming back home from work and dance together several times! I also play a random instrumental playlist from youtube during the “focus-pokus” time. You know – the learning time. And my kid loves this!
Bonus: Happy kid’s fall playlist
After breastfeeding my son for the first time when we were still in the hospital, I played the Moonlight Sonata on youtube. That was the song we always played him while I was pregnant. But when I was pregnant, I also introduced him to Arctic Monkeys.
And so, that night, after the Moonlight Sonata ended, I put on the acoustic session from Arctic Monkeys. When he was a 1-year-old, his favourite album was “Changes” by Bowie and his favourite song was “Rebel, Rebel”. Alongside his love for Bowie, he was admiring Alex Turner’s interviews and all the songs from Arctic Monkeys, as well as Morrissey’s solo carrier and The Smiths.
We still didn’t buy him the drums when he heard Queen for the first time, the song “Killer Queen” and he instantly played the rhythm on his drums toy. Fast forward, he’s been through Oasis and The Killers stage, The Beatles and now we’re back at the Bowie + Morrissey stage again! Try our list with your kiddos to see what happens! These are some of my son’s favourite songs.
Hope you’ll enjoy our list! 🙂
