Earlier in my life, I didn’t understand all that Holiday travel drama. I was a girl who only wanted to stay home and relax from that annoying school. Looks like this tradition decided to stick around since Holiday season is the time when family members are together which makes it a perfect time to plan some travelling. No matter how much I hated the tradition back then, I must admit that nowadays, I enjoy a Holiday travel to anywhere nice and snowy.
But we are now three and it gets somewhat difficult to travel with a toddler. Toddlers, as stubborn as they are, always think about themselves and the crowd annoys them. In order to make it a perfect Holiday travel, we need to tolerate things such as “I don’t want to go to the shop and let’s stay in this nice ball pool, so much fun”! We need to plan smaller routes and we definitely need to choose kid-friendly (funny) places to visit mostly.

Holiday travel w/ kids (four tips to relax)
When you’re going on a holiday travel with kids, things might get a bit crazier than traveling at any other time. Any other time may be first days of July or at the end of July and March or April, which we can’t say for the Holiday season. Holidays are at that exact time of the year for every person on a planet. And that can make things pretty intense, so prepare!
1 Budget & two boxes.
You’ll have to know how much do you plan on spending (or can spend) for an upcoming travel. Look through destinations you wish on visiting and put the money in two different boxes: one for pre-shop of necessary things and one for the money spent on a trip. If you are more of a “card person”, then put written numbers inside.
2 Book a room on time (also book a flight on time, or check your car)!
Grab free $35 from my link and book a room as soon as possible! If you take this advice for granted, you’ll probably feel lost because holiday travel with kids requires that you take a good time to prepare. When you’re planning on travelling during that time of the year when everyone else is travelling too, they might spot that perfect room before you! If you’re going with a car, never forget to check it and also, book a flight on time if you chose an ariplane.
3 Pre-shop to avoid the drama
You’ll probably have to do the pre-shopping several times if you’re trying to show the world to your kid. That’s great because you’re preparing the little one for life, but it usually requires that you shop several times (unless you got lucky). And this is also all right but in order to avoid the holiday travel with kids drama, write the list and start shopping on time!
4 Pack at least three days before
But, don’t start packing if your house is in a complete mess, and clothes are not ready to fit in (meaning: washed and ironed)! Trust me, you won’t be able to function properly in that kind of a mess. What I invented (I’m sure I did not invent it, so read between the lines) is: make combinations of every day you’re spending wherever you’re heading too. I always go with this because it serves me well. I never have to pack too much and run out of things and I always know what I need. But don’t forget tons of extra clothes for the kid (two or three extras of everything for the day would be pretty enough).
Stay calm because…
…that works magic with any situation that might go wrong. Honestly, when I see a nervous child and a nervous parent – I know who’s to blame. You can’t always stay completely calm because you’re a human, right? But always remember to try and try even more.

Traveling with kids can be so stressful. I don’t envy anyone having to do so, but being prepared ahead of time surely helps.

Traveling with kids is really hard either it is a road trip or not and even though how much we prepare for that you will still encountering a lot of struggles because we can’t really control their mood. So for me, that most important thing to bring is a lot of PATIENT and UNDERSTANDING.

I’d say that to travel with kids shouldn’t be a hassle. As a matter of fact, it can be one of the best experiences you will have as a family.
