As for where I live, in Serbia, October tends to be the happiest month of the year. We are four-seasoned by the weather here, so the bad mood after every two months of one season easily transition into a happy place when the next weather season changes. People have something to expect and they rejoice among the different things a new season brings for them. And it’s all nice.

However, people are pretty sloppy in here. And it drives me mad. As I’m getting older, I get abused by so many things human’s carelessness and bad taste puts in front of me. In October, nature seems to do its work on her own. As much as leaves falling seems sad, it colours everything up in nice colours and the weather itself is amazing. Sunny for long walks during the day, a bit coldly during nights for the cosiest home feels.
October inspiration
If you’re here for some time already, you’ve probably gone through my autumn bucket list. Some of you felt exhausted by reading through it, but anyway, I’m so grateful all of you supported me! And so happy many of you found it inspirational and motivated you to make your own!
If you’re new to the blog, go ahead and check it out here. We’re only one week into the autumn season, and I’ve already accomplished three out of ten things on the list. I (1) changed the look of this website, I did (2) 30-day-everyday-yoga challenge (started this one earlier, and will be posting the details soon) and I did it all by (3) sticking to the plan!
Without further ado, let’s get the inspiration rolling harder. Here are my absolute October favourites! That stuff and feels that make me smarter, hardworking, braver, good-looking, motivated, and a better person in general.
My commitment and my brand new blog’s design
Like I mentioned, three of ten challenges from my autumn list scrolled already! I’m seriously thinking out loud to consider myself as my own hero. I’ve never done this much in such less time before! I’ve never been so confident in my skin and with my brain previously. YAY to self-acceptance!
The challenge number 4 from the business list was to brand and update the blog. Even though there are so many things that yet need to get my hands on, I am pretty amused by how this all turned out to be! I’m currently working on slides on the Homepage and a few pretty things on the right sidebar.
The colours on fashion items in October
The autumn comes and I’m having two options in my mind: red and orange. And all of the variations of these two colours. Nothing makes me happier than leaving a house with my coloured tights on when it comes to fashion items! It makes me so inspired and creative, a little bit artistic wearing them.
Home decor, scents and the food
No, I don’t mean candles, wine and chicken-corn-apple soup. First of all, I try to use candles as least as possible. I don’t like wine (only beer). That chicken-corn-apple soup sounds like horror to me. Well, basically, this IS the horror month, but I still want to live!
Although we’ve painted the wall next to the piano to fit every season, it feels a bit more like fall. We used to have kid’s drums in there, so it’s easily reachable. But now that he’s bigger and follows upon certain routine (I “forced” the music hours to be around 3-4 PM, but nowadays, he also does music at any other “independent hour” as well, without me mentioning), we moved it to the music room.
You can read more about my son’s daily routine here.
Anyways, I like having our home decor minimalist, but inspirational at the same time. All the three of us are artists (read more here), so staying motivated and inspired is the key to our happiness. I like it cosy, warm and with so many different kinds of lights!
As for the scents and food, we are currently big fans of broccoli soup, the
Spooky, spooky items
If there’s a month you get to pretend spookily (or be yourself, whatever), that’s October! Spooky items drive me nuts! I’m complete adrenaline junky over horror books, movies, and all.
1 All things HP! Call me crazy, but I’ve already gone through all the parts of Harry Potter once again and that last one chilled me good! Fun fact that I noticed an HP costume in DexyCO store and joked at my husband: why not buy me these. (Was it a joke, really?)
2 Apartment 16 book, by Adam Nevill. You guys, this one will make
3 Penny Dreadful. Yeah, I know this one’s old, it’s from 2014. But I wouldn’t find any better option but the Eva Green caught up in a world of well-known monsters, like Dorian Grey, Dr Frankenstein and his monsters, and all the other creatures of the night. The actual story behind this is the old Dracula love story where he falls in love with a woman and slowly raises to get her, with a help of his servants, while messing with her mind in many different ways. Don’t be fooled by the cliche, it’s with a British tone of twisted and modern!
October destination
Transylvania, Romania.
Why not visit the real Dracula’s castle in October? We’ve been there when our son was 2, but it was February. It was such a cosy two-days break from reality. Usually, we book our trips with Booking.com or via Airbnb (use my link to get $25 off your next stay). I think that it would be great to visit the castle on Halloween night and even sleep at the castle that night and be a part of the program they organize on that date.
All things yoga
Yoga is not only a physical activity but also a combination of mental and spiritual practices too. Love all the sweet yoga items and events, BUT there’s this one website I feel the need for sharing with you today.

You have a nice list of traveling favorites. I do recommend going to Transylvania in October, the entire landscape is changing colors and the castle looks amazing through the shades of orange, yellow and red.
