I like to take my Saturday slow. I only cooked two times today (if I don’t count eggs fried on coconut oil for breakfast). I prepared our favourite fitness bread, and soup with veggies and beef. There was such an adorable energy around me. While I was preparing bread my son was having a concert. First, he played the guitar and sang his own songs, and later he seriously played the drums. When I started preparing soup, my son (nowadays obsessed with a yo-yo) made my husband pretend HE is a yo-yo and chase him around the kitchen. You can imagine how much I laughed…
Cooking on Saturday
FITNESS BREAD
White bread is never on our lists. We don’t buy it, and we don’t make it. I know there are people thinking that healthy bread is not tasty. For us, it’s vice versa. We kinda got used to our bread. We even like them more. Currently, we are enjoying our paleo bread (here’s the link to that one) and this one with yoghurt!
Healthy bread
Ingredients
- 100 g oats
- 3 tbsp buckwheat flour
- 100 g flaxseed
- 1 baking powder
- 5 egg whites
- 300 g yogurt
- seeds to garnish
Instructions
-
Mix all dry ingredients together.
-
Then pour in wet ingredients and mix all together.
-
Bake for an hour on 180C.
VEGGIES AND BEEF SOUP
But the soup was my real answer to Saturday lunch question. Saturdays leave a lot of space for family time, so there’s no need to overdo on that day. And since I am against difficulties on weekdays, I used slow-cooker again. My son enjoys soups. And beef too. And carrots, because bunnies eat carrots. He always says something very cute when carrots are on the menu. I would normally make some soup in a pot, and I would grill meat. But there are days I’d rather sleep or chit-chat with my guys than being in the kitchen.
Slow-cooker soup
Ingredients
- 400 g beef
- 6 carrots
- 300 g bean sprouts
- 500 ml tomato juice
- 4 tbsp any sauce for meat
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- water
- 1 lemon
- salt
Instructions
-
Bathe meat in salt and lemon juice, and grill it for 10 minutes on every side.
-
Oil slow-cooker and put meat inside. Pour in your choice of sauce and soy sauce as well.
-
Add carrots, bean sprouts and water. Turn on high and let it cook for 3 hours.
-
After 3 hours, pour in tomato juice and let it cook for one more hour. (But you could also pour tomato juice at the start)
-
After 4 hours of cooking, it is ready to serve!
Happy weekend everyone, hope you don’t overdo it!

When I first moved to LA I had a slow cooker because I thought I’d make all my dinners in it while I was at work, but that isn’t what happened. I ended up giving it away, but now I wish I would have kept it because there are so many delicious recipes!
Thanks for sharing! x
