I’ve always known I’d be the kind of mom that steps into the mornings proactively rather than just wandering around. For the first time, my son has his days filled with activities (such a big five-year-old) and that requires a bit more organisation than before. Apart from that, I’m working on several projects plus I’m trying to figure out a few things before I get back to Uni. I’m so excited to share my spring mom routine and spice up your mornings as much as possible!
Spring mom routine
Motherhood can be truly overwhelming. Happiness, tiredness, angry feelings because you’re feeling lost – all thrown at you by once! I mean, the struggle is real. But there’s nothing on this world a proper routine can’t fix. Shall we do it? Let me show you how I manage to stay flexible with work and on a personal level. Here’s how I make more time for fixing broken and finding lost.
Wake up to set up my day – around 6 am and 7 am
I wake up anywhere between 6 and 7 am, depending on the tasks I need to finish before I wake up the kiddo. Then I would make green tea, let our dog out and feed her. As I’m taking my fuel while enjoying the quiet atmosphere around me, I’m either making breakfast or serving it and packing my son’s lunch/snack box and water bottle. When all is set, I go to do my skincare routine before waking them up.
Wake the kid (and daddy) up for breakfast – 7.30 am
I would gently call my boys to come to join me in the kitchen so we could eat, talk, read books, learn and play together. We still homeschool (here’s where you can find his weekly set of activities), so if he chooses the learning activity of the day first thing in the morning, we won’t disagree. All previously set and some activities he genuinely enjoys.
Help my son get ready – around 8 am
He still needs help with brushing teeth and dressing up, but we’re getting there.
Off to playroom – 8.30 am
We walk with the puppy, I ride him on a bike or dad drives him. The best thing about my productive spring mom routine is the smiley face he’s giving me. If I haven’t chosen to structure our mornings, we would have rushed through them all cranky. Children love the structure, so do we!
Workout – 8.45 am
Morning workouts are not a necessary part of my spring mom routine because each day is different. Some days, I would go on quick walks/run with the puppy at 6 am. Other days, we’d ride to the woods on a bike (I use this seat) so I’d save a room for a family workout in nature. But most of the times, my workouts are centred here.
Work hours – from 9.30 to 12 pm
The first coffee of the day and workday can officially start! Doing the job I love, I’m actually looking forward to 9.30 to enter the room, especially if the first part of my spring mom routine was this smooth! I would go through my Notion to fill in my daily tracker, go through my reminders, goals and see which projects and tasks are for today. Then I would focus my energy on work for 2 hours straight.

Snack time and what’s next?
After the first two hours of work, I would give myself a pause back to reality and have some snack (usually fruit or smoothie). Then, if it’s Tuesday or Thursday, I would go and pick the kid from the playroom. He has a 45-minute long English class on those two days at 5 pm, so I want to make sure he gets the rest he needs, the play he needs and the learning he needs for the day. Either way, he stays until 2.30 pm so I would spend my pause playing with the puppy and training her.
Work hours – 12.30 pm
Hitting the pause at the reality once again and back to work. I usually make lunch the night before and put it in a slow-cooker so I could focus on work again before the boys come home. Then I would try to finish my daily work to-dos or house chores (if there are some planned for the day) so that I could relax at nighttime.

And there we have it! In a blink of an eye, my morning routine finishes somewhere between 2 and 3 PM when the boys come home for lunchtime. I used to be tired at this time before I set up my mornings this way. Now, I feel super productive and ready for the fun to begin! How do you feel in the morning?
