October is my month of enjoyment, but every time I can’t stop but wonder how did it just slip away so fast? Next time I know, I’m figuring out this whole toddler gift guide thing! Every.single.year.
Toddler gift guide for two-year-old kids
Although my kid is now a 4-year-old and we’ve finally reached that stage when he knows what he wants, the list I’ve prepared is for two-year-old kids. Because gifting in a terrible twos stage is the hardest.
Do you remember that time you bought a toy and couldn’t wait for your little one to open it? Two minutes later, little one leaves it behind to wander in loneliness.
All children are different and like different stuff. Still, there are some toddler-approved toys you can’t go wrong with, other than cars, dolls, books and balls, or customized gifts.
Toddler gift guide under $50
1 Double-Sided Tabletop Easel was one of my son’s favourite toy when he was 2 and he still uses it! It consists of both magnetic whiteboard (with little magnets and a black pen) and blackboard. Perfect gift for kids of any interests!
2 Alphanumeric Puzzle Mat – I remember when mom gifted us with this one when my brother and I were kids and now my son uses it for all sorts of play when we’re visiting!
3 Educational Wooden Maze Toy keeps toddlers calm forever.
4 Wooden Shape Sorting Clock was super helpful for learning numbers, shapes and time and we still play with this one! Here’s a super Montessori bundle I’d recommend as well!
5 Card Games are so much fun because everything’s better doing with friends!
6 Early Explorer Set Subscription has everything your kid’s scientist gene needs. First months package includes suitcase, passport, map, luggage-tag, activity sheet and a welcome letter. How fun is that?!
7 Cleaning Set toy if your kid’s like mine! Mine would usually stick around, when he was 2 everything seemed funny to do. That’s also the best time to start introducing chores!
8 100 pack balls because there’s nothing funnier for them to dive in!
9 Brick Tower Scenario Castle from MUtable perfect for both boys and girls may help develop imagination, creativity and language skills.
10 Lillypost Subscription box: for your kid and you to stay close to each other and develop intelligence while enjoying a beautifully designed set of books delivered to you every month by the company. Perfect for any kid!
11 Grow & Glow Terrarium + Hide & Seek Rock Painting Kit – educational science, arts & crafts and imagination, this is the bestseller!
12 GeoSafari Ant Factory to watch ants work—24/7—with nutrient-rich farm gel, which doubles as habitat and food, and colour-changing LEDs that light up the night. Unique nutrient-rich gel eliminates the need for feeding or watering.
13 Bigger Cleaning Set for little helpers!
14 Gas Station to make kid’s toy ride a little bit realistic.
15 Cozy Coupe from Little Tikes is another bestseller on the list! My son wanted this, but we weren’t able to get it on time!
Toddler gift guide around $100
16 MoonScope. On our list ever since!
17 Logg Mini Guitar for kids who have a passion for music because they deserve to nurture their music skills in early ages!
18 Ah, the Snow Sled! Should I say more?!
19 Tool Set is not only for the boys. But, my boy loved his tools ever since we got them. Although he likes real tools better, this toy keeps his hands busy for a long time too.
20 Spinning Chair from Ikea can also be the perfect hiding place!
21 Cubetto, a screen-free coding toy for 3-6 years old boys and girls. It is a bit expensive, but for a good reason. Cubetto (a wooden robot, Montessori approved) is designed to teach kids the basics of computer programming.
22 MUtable is a play table with four playboards that grow along with the little one.
23 Kitchen Toy for kids! My parents gift my son with a kitchen toy as last New Year’s present, he loves it and uses it almost every day!
24 Tiny Tot Wooden Balance Bike and Tricycle 2 in 1.
25 Double Swing Set or a Swing. Name me that one kid who doesn’t like this, huh?!
So..
I’m sure I listed many toys that could probably make a toddler happy. Anyhow, since they are such pickers when it comes to, well, everything, open your ears widely. Or go for the balls, bikes & cars and books.
TIP NO 1: If you don’t know a child well, at least try and make parents happy. Buy things that are convertible, easy to stay clean and come with less noise! 🙂
